How Do You Make a Handmade Paper Notebook?

The material is then bleached to remove any color and leave it looking lovely and white. The bleached fabric is then carefully sliced into even smaller pieces.

The leftover paper and fabric pieces are then combined with water in a unique device called a beater. This machine beats the raw material till it turns into a pulp. Next, we evenly transfer the pulp into a mold consisting of two frames. As the water drains from the mold, the pulp is kept in place by the screen.

The wet pulp is moved to a piece of cloth and pressed to create a thick sheet. Until the required uniformity is attained, this process is repeated. We press out any leftover water once the sheets are formed, then dry them. The amount of pulp that is utilized in the mold determines the thickness of the sheet.

If we want colored sheets, we add dye to the pulp as it is being beaten. Every now and again after it has dried, we paint our handmade paper journal. We create motifs by pressing grass, leaves, and petals of flowers into the surface to add a personalized touch.
